8.50am: Before we wrap things up, here's the big news stories from the morning we will be following throughout the day: The body of a young child was found at an Onehunga house about 4am this morning. Child sex offender Daniel Livingstone has taken off his electronic monitoring bracelet and is on the run from his home in Wellington - we will be putting tough questions to the authorities. The Connor Morris murder trial continues today, with the jury hearing form the man that killed him. And the weather is set to pack in this weekend - stay tuned to find out when it's set to clear up.
8.47am: The slow, smouldering fire at Auckland strip club Showgirls late last did not cause extensive damage to the club. A fire spokesman said it was likely to be an electrical fault.
8.33am: Neighbours living next to an Onehunga house where a young child was found dead this morning say it is a close community. It is understood the house is a Housing New Zealand property. Here's the latest.

8.23am: A forest fire in Christchurch is sending smoke across the region. It is understood the fire is in a stockpile of wood processed from building rubble damaged in the 2011 earthquakes, and ignited about 3.20am.
8.19am: It might be drizzly when the Warriors kick off in Wellington on Saturday, with chilly southerlies dropping the temperatures in the capital. Great conditions to host our friends from across the ditch! Should be fine weather for the All Blacks game in Sydney later on though, phew.

7.52am: Bit of a mixed day throughout the country at the moment. Gisborne is currently sitting at the country's high of 13.2C, while Invercargill is the coldest at just under 0C. Wellington is (shock horror) the windiest with 37kmh winds blowing through the capital.
7.50am: A CNN safety analyst says the families of MH370 victims have "every right to be skeptical". Read more here.
7.47am: A man has died after a car left the road in Pukekohe just before 7am today. Emergency services were called to the crash at the intersection of Harrisville and Turbott Rd. Diversions are in place and traffic is flowing smoothly.

7.32am:BREAKING: Here's our full story on the child's body found at an Onehunga house this morning. We have a reporter on the way and will have updates here as soon as they come through.
7.28am: Reports of an overnight blaze at an Auckland strip club have just come in. About 35 firefighters were called to the fire at Showgirls about 12.30am. There were no reports of injury. An investigator is at the scene this morning.
7.26am: Please take care on the roads this morning! NZTA have issued another warning for ice on roads in the South Island.

7.23am: Police were called to the Moana Ave address and one person was removed from the scene by an ambulance, and received medical attention in the following hours. Police are in the process of locating the child's next of kin. A scene examination will be underway this morning. No further information is available at this stage.
7.21am: Police have just released information about the cordoned-off Onehunga house - the body of a young child was found at the house this morning. More to come.
7.20am: Police are unable to comment on a cordoned-off Onehunga house until later this morning. The Fire Service was called to the Moana Ave suburban house about 4.10am to what was thought to be a medical incident. Police have not confirmed reports somebody died at the address this morning. We'll keep the updates coming.
7.16am: A privacy breach at Massey University in Wellington has "horrified" students. Almost 70 students were identified in an email sent out about counselling services. Read more here.
