An exclusive Herald investigation has revealed several Government MPs are using a loophole to avoid declaring properties they own - while claiming up to $78,000 in taxpayer-funded subsidies each year to pay off the mortgage.
Data journalist Keith Ng trawled through 7.2 million property records to create a searchable database for the investigation.
Custom-made software helped him find out the addresses of the properties each MP owns, both personally and through trusts, superannuation schemes or companies.
