Attention all Lord of the Rings fans! At Salon.com you can listen to JRR Tolkien read a section from the famous trilogy.

Recorded in 1952, before the Rings was published, this reading convinced him to send the manuscript to one more publisher, who recognised its genius and took it to print.

You can hear Tolkien reading a passage from "The Two Towers" streamed through Real Player or it can also be downloaded as a MP3 file.
