The Liquor King franchise in the main street of Masterton is to be put up for sale.
Karen Crabb, Liquor King retail director, said from Auckland the Liquor King Masterton business, sited in the northern end of Queen St opposite the State Theatre building, will soon be on the market.
She said there were three fulltime and two part-time workers at the store, which had been operating at the site for the past six of the 17 years the business has been trading in the town. "We have recently indicated to our team that we are putting Liquor King Masterton on the market," she said.
"Naturally we will work with them to understand the impact if and when the store is sold but until then it is business as usual."
Ms Crabb said the operation "no longer aligns with the strategic plan for Liquor King".
