"You can choose any breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and a couple of desserts a week, out of the book, and no matter which ones you choose it will all fit into a 1500 calories a day meal plan, which is about the right amount to help people lose weight."
Ms Lim last visited Wairarapa in 2012, while promoting an earlier book and said she enjoyed doing book tours because it meant she got to visit small towns.
"Rural and small town New Zealand is very unique and lovely. It's a really nice vibe and I love it, and that's what you get here."
Mrs Lim spent her early years in Auckland. When she was six she moved to Malaysia with her family and lived there for six years before returning to Auckland.
Since the age of 12 - when she first saw The Naked Chef on television and "fell in love" with Jamie Oliver - she knew she wanted to follow in his footsteps.
However, after leaving high school she was strongly encouraged by her parents to go to university if she "wanted to get a real job".
So choosing the "closest thing to food that I could study at university", Ms Lim spent five years studying nutrition and dietetics in Otago, which is where she met her husband, Carlos Bagrie.
Despite her success in the cooking world, the 29-year-old entrepreneur has never been to culinary school.
"It's all self taught so I'm not actually a chef, I guess I'm just a home cook."
She said her interest in food was sparked at a young age.
Both her parents were good cooks and she had learned about nutrition through her mother.
"Growing up in Malaysia probably broadened my culinary horizons as well because it's a real multicultural place and that's reflected in the food.
"So I was exposed to a lot of different types of dishes and styles of cooking and cuisines from when I was really young."
Ms Lim now runs her own business, My Food Bag, which delivers a week's worth of dinner recipes and all the ingredients to the door.
Since starting the business 2 years ago from her Auckland home kitchen, it has grown significantly. It is available in 10 New Zealand towns and cities and in Sydney and Melbourne.
If Wairarapa people are interested in getting My Food Bag they need to register their interest with the customer service team.
"To bring it to [a region] we have to get a certain number of people to commit to it."
Ms Lim, who now alternates living between Auckland and Sydney, said food education in New Zealand could be improved.
"I think we should make cooking classes mandatory at school up until fifth form.
"Every kid could learn how to cook about 10 different dishes from scratch and won't have to rely on processed foods and takeaways when they leave home.
"And that will have a huge impact on their health down the track - 20 to 30 years later."
Her one key health tip is to "change your mindset to the glass is half full".
She said rather then focusing on "bad foods" and what you shouldn't eat, you should focus on what you should be having.
Ms Lim said her decision to enter Masterchef was simply to be given the opportunity to write her own cookbook.
Since winning the second season of the cooking show Ms Lim said her job has changed but she's still the same.
"That working life is very different but I get to do what I love, which is pretty lucky.
"If you are in a creative industry and you're under pressure to do it all the time you have to be careful that you don't fall out of love with it."
