The owners of an Australian icebreaker say they have had four inquiries from family and friends of Erebus victims about a proposed trip to visit the crash site, but no firm bookings. Ocean Frontiers is planning a 35-day trip to visit the Antarctic in January. Tickets for the trip cost $40,000 a person.
The vessel could take up to 12 people to visit the Erebus memorial, where 257 people died when an Air New Zealand DC10 crashed on November 28, 1979.
