Lightning strikes in Whangarei

Fire crews in Whangarei have been kept busy after a series of lightning strikes set off alarms this morning.

Four calls were received within five minutes at 9.45am, Fire Service northern communications shift manager Megan Ruru told NZPA.

The alarms were all at business premises, she said.
