A search of Southland coast is underway after a life raft and squab belonging to a missing yacht have been found.
The life raft of missing yacht Munetra was found washed up on the southern end of Stewart Island on Friday and a squab from the yacht was located at Pahia, Southland yesterday.
The yacht and the three people onboard have been missing since leaving Bluff on April 16.
Police said 15 search and rescue volunteers and police personnel are searching the southern coastline from Colac Bay to Rowellanburn west of Tautapere on foot and on four-wheel motorbikes for any further signs of the missing yacht.
The search began at low tide at 1pm today.
