Aucklanders can now access every book at every public library across the region at the click of a button.
Five of the region's councils - Auckland City, Manukau, North Shore, Waitakere and Rodney - have combined their catalogues to provide a single online library with a number of new services. Access is via the councils' websites.
Beverly Fletcher, the manager of Rodney Libraries, who led the project, said people would still have to use the inter-library loan system to take out books from another council.
