A play based on euthanasia campaigner Lesley Martin's book To Die Like A Dog will have its premiere in Wanganui next Friday.
The play was written and directed by Wanganui woman Joan Street, who plays Martin's mother, Joy.
It will have only one performance but will be filmed for a documentary.
Last month Martin was found guilty of attempting to murder her mother and sentenced to 15 months' jail.
She is serving her sentence in Wellington's Arohata Prison, having turned down the chance to apply for home detention.
Former MP Michael Laws - who unsuccessfully tried to get Parliament to pass a bill legalising euthanasia - will take the part of narrator in the play.
