KEY POINTS:
State-owned enterprise Learning Media is planning an organisational change that may lead to some job losses.
The company said today it was consulting staff on an organisational change proposal and some job losses were anticipated.
"Actual numbers will be determined following consultation and will be announced in November," communications manager Margaret Styles said.
Public Service Association national secretary Brenda Pilott said the union was involved in the consultation with staff at Learning Media about the change.
The PSA had 43 members at Learning Media.
"We are not in a position to make any further comment at this stage," Ms Pilott said.
Learning Media's core business is the publication, production, marketing and sale of educational materials, particularly to the Ministry of Education.
It also develops education material for overseas markets, in particular the United States.
Learning Media was established as a Crown-owned company in 1993, but became a state-owned enterprise in January 2005.
