Leaky stash slows Aussie

An Australian visitor to Wellington who swallowed a gram of methamphetamine before going through Customs overdosed on the dangerous drug when part of his stash leaked inside him.

Ileya Romachko, 20, unemployed, of Rethven in Sydney, pleaded guilty in Wellington District Court yesterday of importing the drug.

He was remanded in custody for sentencing in the High Court on August 15.
