In an article published in the Herald on September 9, 2004, under the headline "Fired house inspectors in mood to sue" the Herald said the registered building certification firm Approved Building Certifiers had inspected a number of multi-unit housing complexes, some of which had experienced problems with leaking.
Fairview Lifestyle Village near Albany was identified as one of the multi-unit housing complexes which had been inspected. Other developments were then identified as being those with leaks. The New Zealand Herald did not say Fairview had a problem with leaks. The Herald has no knowledge of any problems with leakage at Fairview.
The Herald regrets that Fairview's name was mentioned in the same context as developments with leakage problems and any stress or concern caused to owners and residents at Fairview.
