KEY POINTS:
SYDNEY - Sydney police were yet to lay any charges on Thursday as they investigate sexual assault allegations against New Zealand Warriors rugby league winger Michael Crockett.
A New South Wales police spokesman said statements were still being taken and there was no decision on whether charges would follow.
Crockett told Warriors management that he strenuously denied any sexual misconduct, and the club had helped him get legal advice.
"Michael is certain he has done nothing wrong and he will be defending any allegation made against him," Warriors chief executive Wayne Scurrah said yesterday.
The investigation stemmed from a woman's complaint of sexual assault to Redfern police on Monday morning.
Crockett has been withdrawn from the side to face the Gold Coast Titans in Auckland on Saturday night, his place going to Patrick Ah Van.
