A lawyer who pleaded guilty to taking excess and undersized scallops will remain at his law firm.
Michael Robertson was fined $850 plus $260 court costs and lost his $40,000 boat after he was found with 388 scallops - more than 19 times the daily limit of 20. Forty-eight were under the 100mm minimum size.
Craig Ewington, the managing partner of Auckland law firm Shieff Angland, said Mr Robertson would stay working at the firm.
"Michael has pleaded guilty and faced matters and has been punished by the court."
