Blues and jazz fans will have one more chance tomorrow night to be part of the Cross Creek Blues Club's action before the club shuts up shop for the Christmas-New Year break.
The last meeting for the year is shaping up to be a good one, with the return of Brazilian vocalist Alda Rezende and a trio of familiar faces Patrick Bleakley (bass), Lucien Johnson (saxophone) and John Rae (drums) - known locally as The Troubles.
A bonus for the last gig of the year will be a performance by guitarist Noel Clayton.
Club publicity officer Mike Warman said December meetings at The Tin Hut, Tauherenikau, usually take on a "relaxed, party atmosphere".
"The music isn't strictly blues and this time the Rezende Quintet's act should guarantee an infectious Latin/jazz beat that conjures up sunny South American beaches more than the Mississippi Delta," Mr Warman said.
