Mr Pivac, who organised the first Cruise Martinborough car event in December, said it was a shame that the event might not be able to take place.
Cruise Martinborough included a drive-in movie night.
"It's unique. People don't often get to go to the drive-in," he said.
"We chose family-oriented movies so the whole family can go."
The screenings are scheduled at the Solway showgrounds with a sunset start.
The Friday night show is Came a Hot Friday starring Billy T James and Saturday night features Good Morning Vietnam with Robin Williams.
Drive-ins were part of the fabric of the 1950s and 1960s in the United States, with some 4000 across the country.
They were popular with families, with children being able to go in their pyjamas and fall asleep in the car.
The theatres went into a steady decline from the 1970s onwards, but there has been a revival.
The shows are scheduled for this Friday and Saturday only and the entry fee is $35 per car.
Although the ticket price might seem high, Mr Pivac said he was only looking to break even.
He expects it to cost $3500 each night for the screen, venue and projector hire, movie royalties and other incidental expenses.
If enough tickets are sold for a single show, it could go ahead on its own.
In the event of cancellation, refunds will be made to people who have bought tickets.
