A vehicle's collision with a cow north of Huntly has closed a section of road running adjacent to the Waikato expressway.
Police are currently at the incident, which involved one large truck, on Te Ohaki Road, Rangiriri.
"The truck is extensively damage and heavy haulage is required to remove it," police said.
The collision occurred about 2km south of the Rangiriri Bridge.
The road would be closed for some time and police have advised motorists to avoid the road if possible.
