A large landslip has come down across part of the Thames Coast Road at Ruamahunga.
Police say the slip has blocked the road north of Otuturu Crescent, and it is expected to remain closed until sometime tomorrow due to the amount of debris.
No diversions are in place, and motorists are advised to avoid the area in the meantime.
