Fire fighters have contained a large fire at a Taranaki workshop this morning.
Fire Service spokesman said crews were called to the blaze at the freight and bulk transport business on Katere St in New Plymouth around 1.30am.
The fire was in a workshop building, about 50m by 25m large, Mr Meikle said.
Seven appliances from New Plymouth and surrounding brigades attended.
At the height of the fire the building collapsed, Mr Meikle said, but no was inside at the time and no one was injured.
The cause of the fire is unknown but is under investigation, he said.
