Large fire breaks out at Onehunga waste station, 10 trucks on scene

• A large fire broke out at a waste transfer station in Onehunga, Auckland, this morning.
• Fire and Emergency responded with 10 fire trucks and support vehicles from 11 brigades.
• The fire was 30m high, 550m long, and 30m wide; no injuries reported.

A large fire has broken out at a waste transfer station in Onehunga, Auckland, this morning.

A Fire and Emergency spokeswoman said they were called to the scene on Captain Springs Rd at 4.20am.

The spokeswoman said 10 fire trucks and several support vehicles from 11 brigades across Auckland were called to the scene.

She said the fire was 30m high, 550m long and 30m wide.
