Four fire appliances took almost an hour to control a large blaze at an animal feed store in an industrial park in west Ashburton this morning.
The Fire Service received multiple calls from members of the public at 12.05pm.
The Evans Animal Feeds factory on Watson St suffered damage to corn feed powder in a blaze which burned through four sections of roof and damaged beams and pallets, Ashburton deputy chief fire officer Graeme Baker said.
Investigators are currently trying to establish the cause of the blaze.
