Firefighters are at the scene of a large ammonia leak at a meat processing plant near Hamilton this morning.
Northern fire communications manager Megan Ruru said fire services were called to the scene at the Affco meat processing plant near Te Rapa in Hamilton about 5am.
She said there were currently five fire trucks at the scene, and firefighters were working to establish the cause of the leak.
The building had since been evacuated, however no one had been injured, Ms Ruru said.
