Flight Centre Lansdowne seem likely to be without Wairarapa skipper Sam Curtis for their More FM Twenty20 semifinal match with Red Star at Greytown tomorrow.
Curtis has been struggling with injury and Lansdowne coach Mark Brown revealed his star batsman could be missing from action this weekend, both in the semi and also in Sunday's final if Lansdowne advance.
Even without Curtis, Lansdowne should be a handful for any opponent as they will still have several talented all-rounders on call such as Matthew Stringfellow, Henry Cameron, Brock Price and Jamie Holmes
But they won't be wanting to take Red Star for granted as they, too, have individuals quite capable of turning a Twenty20 match on its head - none more so than Jared Watt and Nick Karaititiana who can both be lethal with bat and ball.
The other semi sees top qualifiers Greytown playing Wairarapa College - also at Greytown - and even without their gun all-rounder Seth Rance, who scored an unbeaten 94 for the Central Districts under-23s in the national tournament on Wednesday, Greytown should call the tune.
Tim Lucas, Paul Lyttle and Steve Coleman are key players for the southerners, while Wairarapa College will be expecting big things from Daniel Ingham, who has returned from playing for CD in the national under-18 tournament.
