KEY POINTS:
All lanes on the Auckland Harbour Bridge are now open but there are still major traffic delays following a crash earlier this morning.
Two cars and a truck were involved in the incident which closed the centre lanes of the bridge in both directions around 8am this morning, leaving only the clip-on lanes open.
Inspector Ian Brooker of northern police communications said it appeared a city-bound car lost control about 8am on the uphill slope of the bridge, crossed all lanes and the red-chip divider, striking the centre barrier.
A southbound truck and trailer unit then jack-knifed in an unsuccessful attempt to avoid the vehicle, blocking the centre lanes. Another car then ran into the truck.
A woman was trapped for a short time in one of the cars and was been taken to hospital with moderate injuries. There were no reports of any other injuries.
The centre barrier was knocked out of alignment in the crash, forcing the closure of the northbound centre lanes and the barrier transfer vehicle was on standby, ready to realign the barrier once vehicles had been cleared from the scene.
Southbound traffic is currently backed up to Northcote and traffic is slow northbound with the tail at Nelson St.
