A "significant" landslip overnight has blocked a road in Northland.
Omamari Rd in Kaihu is blocked after a landslip took out power lines, and is now covering a 50m section of the road.
Police said emergency services and council contractors are clearing the slip, but the road is expected to be closed for most of the day.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.
Diversions are in place from Kai Iwi Rd and Omamari Rd along the coast towards Babylon Coast Rd, back to State Highway 12 and the Parore area.
