Two slips have hit properties on Beach Grove in Omokoroa in the last hour with one house being struck by a 30m wide pile of mud.
No one was injured in the slip, but there is "significant structural damage" to the house, Northern Fire Communications shift manager Jaron Phillips said.
"The alarm was raised by the neighbour who phoned 111. Police and fire are in the process of evacuating the house now -we haven't been there long."
Within minutes of fire services arriving a second slip hit a property further along Beach Grove. A shed was hit in the second slip; fire crews were bracing the shed wall in order to get vehicles out, Phillips said.
Some Omokoroa residents had already been evacuated earlier today after large slips happened overnight.
