Landfill fire likely to burn for weeks

A landfill fire which has spewed smoke and acrid fumes over houses at Pukemiro, 15km west of Huntly, for 13 days will take weeks to put out. The fire, at an old mine site, is burning through an estimated 100,000cu m of demolition waste.
