Land line phone services cut off by several arsons in Wanaka this week were restored this morning.
Four roadside cabinets housing Telecom equipment were targeted and damaged, causing a loss of communication for about 800 phone lines.
Cell phones were not affected.
Telecom spokesman Robin Kelly said repairs to the cabinets were completed at 3.30am this morning.
Police said investigations continued.
Mayor Clive Geddes said vandalism cost local rate payers tens of thousands of dollars a year.
"We are absolutely fed up with this continuing cycle of vandalism against public property," he told Radio New Zealand.
