Lakeview kids jazz up their school

Talent shone as Lakeview School children took on being Enviroschool champions beautifying their school.

This term, children from the school have headed down to Henley Men's Shed once a week where they have been helped to make wooden wheelbarrow planter boxes with which to beautify their school.

The activities followed after the children made and painted large wooden animals to hang around their school.

Olivia Mancer and classmate Maya Sugrue, both 10, were helping paint the finished product when the Times Age rolled up to check out their work.

Olivia said they looked "pretty cool" while Maya said it was fun making them.

Support teacher Trini Aporo said the children had learned a lot by taking part. The school is an Enviroschool.

"They will beautify the school," she said.

Henley Men's Shed member Kevin Ball said the children had been dedicated to the project.

"They are so keen they were running down the road to take part," he said.
