Lake Rotoiti health warning lifted

Health warnings have been lifted at Lake Rotoiti, except for Okawa Bay, and at Lake Okaro.

"Algal numbers have finally decreased to levels where any risk to the public from contact with the water is minimal," Dr Phil Shoemack, Medical Officer of Health for the region, said yesterday.

Warnings also remained in place at Lake Rotoehu, where the bloom was still present.
