SUNDAY COMPETITION
The brillant weather over the weekend encouraged many players to come out and shake some rust from their game.
Sunday was a par round competition and also the semis of the Harry Puha Trophy and plate event.
First off, the winners of par competition: in first place was Mark Burt with a score of 67, second place was a tie between Brent Leader, Charlie Preistley and Alf Sio who all scored 70.
Nearest to the pin went to Glenn Harper (for a change) on the 9th hole sponsored by All Teed Up.
The Ladies winner went to Julie Dondertman with a score of 67.
HARRY PUHA TROPHY
The Harry Puha Trophy plate event semis played on the weekend saw Kere Pikia/Bob Mahuika have a win over Allen Bennett/Graham Jackson and in the other match Dean Hands/Bill O'Brien won over Ron Langford/Martin O'Connor.
The main trophy event Alf Sio/ Mike Wren had a win over Neil Lloyd/Eddie Brown.
TUESDAY LADIES
This was a par round event played in brillant weather once again.
The winner of the day was Julie Dondertman on countback, second was Shirley Poutu and third on countback once again was Glenys Harris.
Last Friday the ladies played their final round of the Riverside Cup against Masterton at Riversdale and finished with a three-all draw leaving them in fifth place.
DATES TO REMEMBER
The Club championship's are about to start and Saturday the 22nd of this month is The Featherston Canadian Foursomes Open tournament. All are welcomed to play in this excellent event.
