One hundred and thirty eight passengers had to spend an extra night in Samoa after an Air New Zealand Airbus 320 was damaged yesterday.
Flight NZ967 from Faleolo International Airport, 40km west of Apia, to Auckland was postponed after a hydraulic ladder smashed into a cabin door, The Samoa Observer reported.
Polynesian's manager of airport services Alyson Sefo said the incident was being investigated.
"We understand Air NZ is doing its own investigations as well. Until that report is made available we will be unable to comment on what and who is responsible in this incident."
She said human error may have been the cause, but that was speculation.
