A Labour Party staffer is facing court action after allegedly taking money.
Wellington District Court confirmed the 23-year-old would next appear on June 20 facing dishonesty and theft charges.
General manager of Parliamentary services Geoff Thorne confirmed to NZPA the man had worked at Parliament as an executive assistant for the party.
However he said he could not comment further as it was an employment matter.
It is understood the man is no longer at work, either suspended or no longer employed.
A Labour Party spokeswoman said the matter was in the hands of the police and she would not comment further.
