Labour maintains attacks on PM's credibility

Labour leader Phil Goff's maintaining his attack on the Prime Minister's credibility, and the attacks are getting more personal.

He has again attacked John Key's record in office at a Greypower meeting in south Auckland.

He also responded to a Fairfax poll where respondents have said they would find Mr Key more likely to lie than Mr Goff.

"You can't go around promising things and then breaking your word," he said.

"He promised that GST would not be going up, he broke his word. He stood in the stadium and promised that New Zealanders would stop going to Australia, more then ever are going. He told the underclass in my electorate he'd do something to help, he's made life worse for them."

Mr Goff also spoke out against rich people who take holidays in Hawaii, where Mr Key has a holiday home.

In response, Key said if Mr Goff wants to talk about those issues, that was his choice.

"We're in a hospital talking about making sure that New Zealanders can get surgery in four months, not six months, or less. If Phil Goff wants to talk about my holidays he's welcome to do that, I don't talk about him and his family."
