Labour leader David Shearer's chief press secretary Fran Mold has resigned to move to Auckland.
Ms Mold said her partner had taken a job in Auckland and she was moving with him. There was no acrimony in her decision and she had a good relationship with Mr Shearer.
Ms Mold, a former TVNZ and NZ Herald political reporter, went to work for Labour when Phil Goff was the leader.
She said she did not yet have a job in Auckland and will leave in May.
Her replacement is yet to be decided, but Julian Robins, a former Radio NZ reporter is likely to be a front runner. Mr Robins went to work for Labour last year.
