Support for Labour and the Green Party has surged following the formation of the new Government, according to a new poll – but NZ First has dropped.
The Roy Morgan poll was conducted from October 30 to November 12, and has National on 40.5 per cent (compared to its election result of 44.4 per cent).
Labour is on 39.5 per cent (compared to 36.9 per cent in the election), with the Greens on 10 per cent (compared to 6.3 per cent).
That would give them 62 seats between them – enough to form a Government without the support of New Zealand First.
Winston Peters' NZ First recorded 7 per cent in the election, but Roy Morgan has support for them now at 5 per cent – right on the threshold needed to make it into Parliament without an electorate seat.
