Unpackaged New Zealand fruit, vegetables, nuts and seafood sent to Australia must carry country-of-origin labelling from June 8.
The Australian Government ordered the labelling after farmers across the Tasman complained their produce was being displaced by cheaper vegetables from New Zealand.
Australia's parliamentary secretary on health, Christopher Pyne, said the requirement would be extended to unpackaged fresh and processed pork products from December and all packaged foods a year later.
