Kuranui College are through to the final of the Wellington secondary schoolgirls' rugby competition.
And they could not have achieved the feat in a more exciting fashion, overturning an earlier comfortable defeat at the hands of Sacred Heart to beat them 39-35 in the all-important return game.
Played at Kuranui before a good crowd of spectators, the match produced a thrilling display of solid, basic skills and strong running with both teams scoring seven tries.
In the end, the difference on the scoreboard between the two sides came down to goal kicking, with Kuranui landing a couple of conversions and Sacred Heart failing to make any impact in that department.
Skipper Katrina Terry led Kuranui by example, scoring two tries, and other notable contributions came from Roxanne Sinclair and Terry Stevens.
