Contractors have cleared a lane of State Highway 25A, Kopu to Hikuai after a major slip shut the road this morning.
The New Zealand Transport Agency reported that one lane had reopened with stop/go traffic management in place at the site.
Earlier, a truck was caught in the debris of the slip that closed a section of the State Highway.
An ambulance crew came across the scene about 6.30am to find a truck stuck within the slip on a section of State Highway 25A, a police spokeswoman said.
She said there were no injuries and contractors had indicated a two-hour wait to retrieve the truck and clear the slip.
