Jacobus (Koos) Albertus Jonker, 47, originally from South Africa, lived in Cobden.
His wife Christelle left a moving message on her Facebook page earlier this week, thanking people for their support and asking them to "keep on believing" her husband is okay.
Also written on Christelle's Facebook profile is the message: "Dankie vir al jul gebede en moet asb nie ophou nie," which translates as: "Thanks for all your prayers and please do not stop."
She also wrote in Afrikaans on Saturday that "through Our Father, nothing is impossible. We trust and believe only in Him with our whole heart".
