A kohanga reo has gone up in smoke in the central North Island.
Central Fire Service shift manager Jan Wills said four fire crews found a Raetihi's Mo Te Whanau Te Kohanga Reo well ablaze when they arrived at 9.45pm.
Fire crews put out the blaze and a fire investigator is at the scene determining the cause.
Wills said the stand-alone building was vacant at the time and she was unsure of the extent of the damage.
