Palmerston North police are looking for a man who robbed a service station early this morning armed with a firearm and a knife.
Detective Dave Wishnowsky said a lone male, who had his face covered, entered the Woolworths at Gull on Tremaine Ave in the city about 12.25am.
The man confronted one of two staff and made off with an amount of cash. Nobody was injured.
Police will carry out a scene examination this morning and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
The offender is described as Maori or Polynesian, about 180cm tall and of thin build. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt under green overalls.
