KEY POINTS:
An Invercargill book shop owner was robbed this afternoon by a knife-wielding man who escaped on a small BMX bike, police said.
The male owner of the Book Exchange, on the corner of Nith and Tweed streets, was alone during the robbery about 12.30pm. He was threatened but not physically attacked, police said.
The offender, who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, took a small amount of money.
