New Zealand tourists are being urged to avoid the annual running of the bulls next week in Pamplona, Spain.
The regional manager of the World Society for the Protection of Animals, Kimberly Muncaster, says the bull run is a cruel event, where the animals are forced to run through narrow streets while being "tormented" by spectators.
They are later killed in a bull ring.
"If you would not support a bull run and fight being hosted in your own home town, you should not support it overseas."
