The New Zealand shearing team have packed their bags for Ireland after missing their latest competition because of the unprecedented washout of the Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate, England.
Weeks of rain culminated in a heavy downpour on Tuesday, making access to parking areas and many other parts of the showgrounds impossible and forcing a decision to call the show off after just one day - the first cancellation because of bad weather since the show was first held in 1838.
More than 12,000 entries had been received across the multiple classes of the show, which was expected to attract more than 130,000 people over its three days.
The Kiwi shearing team of Napier's John Kirkpatrick and Nathan Stratford of Invercargill will next compete at the Rickamore Shears in Northern Ireland this weekend.
They then travel to Wales for four shows, including the Royal Welsh Show which is expected to draw over 200,000 people.
