Sam Flipp's friend Ben is one in a million.
Ben Harris spun the Lotto Winning Wheel in Wellington on Saturday because Sam has been in a wheelchair since he was eight years old, due to a rare degenerative disease.
And Ben bagged $1 million - making 22-year-old Sam of the Manawatu's dream of travel an immediate reality. Top of his wishlist is a trip to LA and Vegas flying First Class.
"Sam has been putting $20 away every week for his dream trip since he was 21, and now his dream is about to come true," said his mum Jeanette.
This is the first $1 million win on the Winning Wheel since September 2009. All Lotto players are automatically in the draw to win the opportunity to spin the wheel, regardless of the type of ticket they buy.
