A woman attempting to set a world record by running for 85 hours without sleep is hoping people will come out and support her during her marathon.
Ultra-distance runner Kim Allen will kick off her record breaking attempt in Auckland Domain at 6am tomorrow.
She is hoping other runners will come out to join her during the 85-hour run, saying the encouragement is important at all stages of the marathon.
Ms Allen is attempting the women's ultra-distance without sleep world record in a fundraising bid for the New Zealand Spinal Trust. She is aiming to run for around 85 hours, or three-and-a-half days, covering 332 laps of the Domain, the equivalent of 500 kilometres.
The mother-of-four, from Tuakau, is attempting to break the record held by US runner Pam Reed who ran 486km in 2005 in just over 80 hours.
