June 14 -- New Zealand's Muslim community strongly condemns the terrorist attacks at an Orlando nightclub on Sunday, which killed 49 people and injured many more.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of New Zealand said the "barbaric acts against humanity" were disheartening for true believers of Islam and completely against the true teachings of Islam.
National president Mohammed Iqbal said the Koran said that even killing one person was the same as killing all of mankind.
"On behalf of our community, I extend our deepest of sympathies and prayers to all those which have lost their loved ones and to anyone who has been affected in any way," he said.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim is a revival movement within Islam that was founded in 1889. The New Zealand branch was set up in 1987 and has more than 400 members.
