The Kiwi man shot with arrows and beaten while trying to save his girlfriend from a sexual attack in Papua New Guinea says he has media from around the world chasing his story.
Matthew Scheurich, 28, told the Herald on Sunday he was fully focused on his recovery and that of his French girlfriend Anais Gerard and was not yet ready to tell his tale.
"I have committed to one interview of my choosing and am concentrating on my and my partner's recovery," he said.
The former Hamilton man has spent two weeks in and out of Cairns Base Hospital after being shot with two arrows and bashed with a rock while trying to save anthropology student Gerard from a sexual attack near the village of Suabi.
